Social networking has taken an ugly turn in Northwest Arkansas.  A 12 year old boy has pleaded guilty to four counts of misdemeanor harassment for offensive statements he made on Twitter about some Bentonville High School students.

The Benton County Daily Record newspaper reports the boy was placed on juvenile probation for one year, and was ordered to perform community service and undergo counseling.

The judge hearing the case also ordered that the boy not have access to the internet, but he granted an exception for school related purposes.

A crime is a crime. It should be a FELONY on this and not a misdemeanor. And he should go to juvnille until 17. And then LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE from there

Wow Eric.. it's people like you that make me realize that there are still plenty of ignorant and irrational people in the world. The kid was TWELVE. He made a mistake and now he's paying for it. There's people that commit murder that don't even get life without parole so I don't know what screwed up, irrational world you live in.. but I prefer you stay there.

I recently had an experience simmler to that , kids texting rude stuff to another kid, I ask the family to put a stop to it,, before it was over ,, I was getting e-mails from their Grama,,their Aunt, I ended up being called everything in the book,, they thought I was someone the Grama knew 40 yrs ago, I just let them rave ,, but it shows you how some people will condone anything a kid does. what a low-life bunch.
