College of the Ozarks Theatre Department will present Cirque de Variete on May 1 and 2, at 7 p.m., in the Jones auditorium. Cirque is an annual production that allows students with a variety of talents to perform for their fellow students and the public while gaining valuable art and entertainment experience.
Different from all past performances, 2012 Cirque will incorporate more people and new musical numbers and choreographed projects. C of O Chorale will assist in a medley of songs including “Les Miserables,” “Guys and Dolls” and “Fiddler on the Roof.” Students enrolled in classes such as stagecraft and lighting design also work to fill multiple roles in preparation for Cirque.
“Cirque is an exciting experience for students to display their talents,” said sophomore Whitney Taylor, double majoring in music and psychology. “This series of shows creates a great environment for quality, family entertainment.”
Students will be allowed priority seating for the student-prepared event; remaining seats will be available to the public free of charge. For more information, contact the Theatre department at (417) 690-2466.
