The Taney County Senior Citizens’ Services Board is charged with distributing the funds collected by the tax levy that was approved by voters in 2010 to improve services to senior citizens. Last week, the board approved a 20-thousand dollar grant for new kitchen equipment, flooring and labor for installation at the Branson Senior Center. The senior tax also paid for upgrades last year at the Senior Friendship Center in Forsyth. Ingrum says with two OATS buses primarily operating in Forsyth and Branson, additional transportation exclusively for senior citizens will be implemented within the next 30 days. The senior board previously approved a grant for the purchase of an additional bus for the OATS transportation system, and to provide for its operation.
