Kirbyville Woman Bound Over on Medicaid Fraud Charges

A Kirbyville woman is scheduled for a preliminary hearing this month in Texas County on charges of Medicaid fraud. 

Thirty year old Alethea Stemick is one of four women accused by the state Attorney General’s office of stealing by deceit.  The women were allegedly involved in a scheme to defraud Missouri’s Medicaid system of nearly 13-thousand dollars by submitting false in-home time sheets to Medicaid providers between 2009 and 2011.

Stemick waived her right to a preliminary hearing this week and was bound over t circuit court in TexasCounty, with arraignment set for May 15.

Also charged in the case is 47-year old Melinda Alterauge of Branson and two women from Texas County.  Alterauge’s preliminary hearing is scheduled Friday of this week.
