Madison credits the condition of the items to the placement of the copper box in a perfectly-sized, 8-by-6-by-4-inch space in the 900-pound block of Carthage marble from Missouri.  The time capsule artifacts will remain on display at the Boone County Heritage Museum in Harrison, which was also presented with the deed to the former school building it began using 25 years ago.

Madison says a surprising number of documents were removed from the copper box, including records of local churches, civic organizations, and a local newspaper dated April 27, 1912.  The Boone County Heritage Museum now owns the 100 year old former school building which has housed its artifacts for the past 25 years.  The deed was presented this week by the Harrison School District.
