A 19-year-old Boone County man has been arrested for a string of residential burglaries.
Tanner Crook of Batavia faces charges of residential burglary, theft of property, and criminal mischief in the second-degree according to the Boone County Sheriff.
The sheriff says an officer from his department responded to a burglary in progress on Highway 14 in Omaha and during the investigation, the officer identified Tanner Crook as the suspect. He took Crook into custody on unrelated charges at that time.
Using information gathered during an interview with Crook and evidence that investigators gathered from a number of burglaries, they were able to determine Crook was responsible for three recent burglaries in the area.
He is being held in the Boone County Jail on 50-thousand dollars bond.
