A damaged boat dock at Branson Landing that’s been sitting in Lake Taneycomo for more than a year is being disassembled and hauled away.

Bass Pro Shops was part owner of the dock, along with landing developer HCW when it broke free during the spring 2011 flood.  The dock ended up miles downstream just a few hundred yards from Powersite Dam, and was towed back to the Landing a few days later.

An eyesore for months, and a potential safety hazard, HCW Incorporated CEO Rick Huffman has taken complete ownership and has decided the dock has to go.  Kanakuk Kamp originally expressed an interest, but recently backed away:

Huffman says the barge section of the dock will be salvaged, once a small store front is removed, along with the gas station:

With the recent completion of the new Taneycomo Bridge, Huffman says he will be excited to see the southern end of The Landing completely clean and free of any flood related debris.

A large boat dock at Branson Landing, damaged by the 2011 spring flood, is being disassembled and hauled away.

Landing developer Rick Huffman, CEO of HCW Incorporated, says he has taken complete ownership of the dock, once shared with Bass Pro Shops.  Huffman says Kanakuk Kamp originally expressed an interest in the dock, but workers determined it is damaged beyond repair.

He says once the boat dock is removed, the south end of The Landing will be back to its original look:

Huffman says the barge section of the dock will be salvaged, once a small store front is removed, along with the gas station, and will be used as a courtesy dock as well as a staging platform for fireworks shot off at the Landing several times a year.
