A Reeds Spring man was airlifted to a Springfield hospital early this morning following a wreck in Taney County.

State troopers report 24-year old George Ritchie was seriously injured when his car ran off Highway 248 five miles west of Walnut Shade around 12:45 a.m.  According to the report, Ritchie was thrown from the car and trapped underneath when the vehicle overturned and struck a tree.

Ritchie was not wearing a seat belt.
