Berry says while the health department has not cut back on services or reduced staff hours, they’re not able to look at new programs as enthusiastically as before. Since integrating with the Branson health department, county health officials enforce city ordinances, such as those pertaining to lodging and food inspections. Berry says the Taney County Health Department is committed to maintaining the current level of service to the tourism industry, and to other services which directly affect people.

But he’s in touch with other county health departments, and says Taney County is fortunate, as some county health departments have been forced to cut back or charge fees for the services they offer.
