A woman facing charges in connection with the investigation into a fire at an apartment building in Hollister is to appear for initial arraignment Monday in Taney County.
Thirty-four year old Amanda Dunagan was one of at least two “persons of interest” sought by authorities in connection with the fire July 10 which caused significant damage to the four-unit building. Dunagan is charged with tampering with a utility meter, stealing and endangering the welfare of a child. She was booked into the Taney County Jail last Friday and released on her own recognizance.
Hollister Police Chief Preston Schmidt says Dunagan was living in the apartment in which the fire started. At least one other “person of interest” is still being sought in the investigation into the fire, which is being called suspicious.
Schmidt says he is still awaiting a report from the state fire marshal’s office regarding the cause.
