From office budgets, to state election laws and the war on drugs – several candidates running for a variety of offices in the August Primary in Taney County, had a chance to express their views during last night’s Conversation with the Candidates at the College of the Ozarks Keeter Center.

Dozens of Taney County voters attended the event, listening to the candidates explain why they should be elected.

At the beginning of the broadcast on 100.1 FM KOMC and HometownDailyNews.com, Taney County Republican Chairman Bob Dixon was asked why a candidate forum like this is so important.

I attended the candidate forum and thought the questions were fair and balanced and I gained insight from the candidates I didn't expect, and the information I gathered will help me with my voting decision. Thank you Hometown Radio and KOMC for a job well done. I appreciate your effort.

Now I know why we reached another high temperature yesterday, there was so much hot air released here.

I want to thank Hometown Radio, Taney County Republicans and all of those who helped sponsor and organize last night's event. Also, to all the candidates who showed up to answer to the public. These events should be much more regular, and our officials should allow opportunities for public discussion like this during their term. Our votes do count, if we take the time to find good people, support them and hold them accountable!

Forums like this are imperative to get these voices heard. I beg all of the voters to listen to each candidate online if you werent able to yesterday - make your decision an informed one! Some of the candidates really impressed me and I found out exactly who I need to vote for last night. I have a feeling there is going to be drastic change in all of the offices this election because none of the incumbents running impressed me at all.
