Incumbent Democratic US Senator Claire McCaskill has agreed to a debate in Branson with Republican challenger Todd Akin. McCaskill ran unopposed in Tuesday’s primary, while Akin held off several challengers to gain his party’s bid to square off against McCaskill in the November General Election.

Hours after Akin’s win, a campaign spokesman said in an email to HometownDailyNews.com that Akin is definitely interested in our Conversation with the Candidates, with dates forthcoming. The spokesman said the campaign will try to sort through the request and quote - get it figured out.

St. Louis area Congressman Todd Akin held off two main opponents in Tuesday’s primary to win his party’s nomination to square off against McCaskill.
In her first live radio interview once Akin was declared the winner, McCaskill told HometownDailhyNews.com that she has an obligation to go to every part of the state during the fall campaign, and said yes to take part in our ongoing political series, Conversation with the Candidates, a combination sit down interview and debate:
