Two local non-profit organizations are benefiting from a substantial gift awarded by the CenturyLink Clarke M. Williams Foundation.
A grant of 99-thousand dollars is going to Jesus Was Homeless, while Christian Action Ministries Food Pantry is receiving 24-thousand dollars.
The foundation was established by CenturyLink with the fundamental belief that companies have an obligation to improve the quality of life where they do business. The Williams Foundation supports programs in several states besides Missouri – they include Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Oklahoma andTexas.
A CenturyLink spokeswoman says part of the money raised came from a company food drive held last month in the Branson area, with CenturyLink matching those funds for the Williams Foundation.
The checks were handed out during a ceremony at the CenturyLink office on South Third Street Friday afternoon.
