Gov. Nixon Places Wager on Cotton Bowl

thumb_d3e0d8b3cb0de6eJEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Governor Jay Nixon is betting his Missouri Tigers defeat Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin’s Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Cotton Bowl on Friday night.

Gov. Nixon announced in a news release Tuesday that he and Gov. Fallin are wagering food products from their home states on their respective alma maters.

Gov. Nixon bet a sliced ham and a smoked turkey from a Missouri smokehouse and Gov. Fallin wagered a 50 pound food basket donated by the Made in Oklahoma Coalition.

The food will be donated to a food pantry in the winning team’s home state.

The Missouri Tigers will take on the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Cotton Bowl on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
