Betty J. Scott, age 86, of Seligman, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born October 21, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of Sherman and Violet (Anderson) DeWitt. On March 15, 1953 she was united in marriage to Bob Scott, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Dr. Cheryl Thompson of Marshall, Missouri, Regenia Scott of Columbia, Missouri and Johna Brooks of Springfield, Missouri; one granddaughter, Tiffany and two great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers.
Betty received her education at Strafford, Missouri. In her earlier years she resided in California where she worked in various banks. She also was employed at Puffett Industry for a while. Her most rewarding job was in the ministry and being a pastor’s wife. They served in Norwood, Missouri and Vanzant, Missouri before moving to Seligman in 1971. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Seligman, where her husband currently pastors and she served in various functions of the church.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Seligman under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Burial will be in King Cemetery at Seligman.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until service time Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Seligman.
