Patricia M. Trombley, 88, of Protem died Tuesday, August 8, 2017 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 19, in the Kisses-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Larry Kackley officiating. Interment will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
Patricia Mary Trombley was born Monday, September 3, 1928 in Hennepin, MN to William and Anna (Hargarten) Prouty. On June 12, 1948, she married her childhood friend, Robert “Bobby” Trombley. They lived in Medicine Lake, MN and later moved to California. She became a homemaker raising her children. After Bobby retired in 1985, they moved to Protem.
Patricia was very artistic and loved to paint and draw as a child and continued long into her adult life. She enjoyed drawing birds, animals and flowers with every letter or card she sent. She was also a very avid story writer and wrote many, many stories of various times and memories of her life. She shared these stories with anyone who would read them and gave away copies to almost everyone she knew including family, friends, neighbors and occasionally a door-to-door salesman. When new neighbors moved next door, instead of bringing them a pie, she gave them an appropriate story about her experience moving to Protem.
She always had a smile on her face and loved to laugh and tell jokes. She deeply missed her husband when he died in 2015 and was extremely devoted to her family. Although she was of the Catholic Faith she was a member of the Rocky Ledge Baptist Church in Protem.
She is survived by two sons, Alan Trombley and wife, Kathleen of Branson, Kenneth Trombley of Garden Grove, CA; a daughter, Karen Parker and husband, Edward of Hodgenville, KY; eleven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Trombley; two daughters, Mary Young and Kathleen Trombley.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
