Branson Upends Ozark, Forsyth Wins Home Opener, Other Scores

Week Four of the High School Football Season saw a road win for Branson, a victory in their first ever Varsity Home Game for Forsyth, and all of the Missouri Lakes Area teams finishing the night with the same record. Meanwhile, in Arkansas, it’s a  2-0 start for Harrison:

For Branson, the Pirates pulled off an upset win at 10th Ranked Ozark 17-14 as Quarterback Ryan Still ran it in from four yards out with around four and a half minutes left. The ran capped off a drive that started on their own 13 yard line and included key runs by Kyle Hunn and Nick Pead along with a leaping third down catch by Collin Andrews  while getting hit that kept the drive alive. Hunn got the Pirates other touchdown in the second quarter after a Michael Sylvester interception. The Pirates got on the board earlier in the quarter on a Jordan Villalobos 35 Yard Field Goal. while both Ozark touchdowns came on runs by Ethan Sandoval.

Meanwhile, Forsyth grabbed a win in their first every Home Varsity Contest outscoring Diamond 48-33. The Panthers jumped out to a 26-0 advantage with Dawson Deroo throwing touchdown passes to Anthony Stanford and Miciah Roacha while Johnny Mayhew had a pair of touchdowns including an interception return. Cyrus Ketchersid also had an interception return for a score for the Panthers after Diamond got back in the game with a couple of scores. The Panthers put the game away in the second half as Deroo and Stanford had another TD Connection while Roacha had a touchdown run.

The Reeds Spring Wolves won for the second straight week as they spot Rogersville 14 points before getting on track and rolling to a 53-14 win. Blake Granvold had two touchdown passes and run for two more wile Kelly Newton and 145 rushing yards and two touchdowns for the Wolves.

After a 2-0 start, the Hollister Tigers have found conference play tougher as Bolivar finally got off their losing streak and rolled to a 42-0 win which dropped the Tigers record to 2-2 on the season.

In Arkansas, the Harrison Goblins are 2-0 after their home win over Siloam Springs  while Berryville lost to Clinton in the Bobcats Home Opener 34-0 and Pierce City from Missouri beat Green Forest 35-7.
