A recap of some of the activities from this past weekend:
College of the Ozarks Volleyball Win Streak Snapped
While the College of the Ozarks saw their season starting win streak end at 10 matches, the Lady Bobcats still split four matches overall at the Evangel Tournament held at the Courts in Springfield. The Lady Bobcats lost to Bellevue and Tabor College on Friday in five set matches but then rebounded for victories over St. Louis College of Pharmacy and Oklahoma Wesleyan on Saturday to go to 12-2 for the season.
C of O Cross Country Meet
The Bobcats and Lady Bobcats each won the team competition of their C of O Ambush Meet on Saturday which featured runners from Cottey College, Evangel, Oklahoma Wesleyan, Ozark Christian College, and St. Louis College of Pharmacy. Lady Bobcat Torri Holder finished first in the Women’s Race while Men’s Medalist Honors went to Shane Burns of Evangel.
-The Branson Cross Country participated in the annual Forest Park meet in St. Louis with Keifer Dooley finishing 21st in the Green Division while the team took 16th place. Meanwhile Madeline Caruthers finished 29th in the Women’s Race with the team finishing 26th.
-The Branson Lady Pirates Tennis Team won their invitational meet Saturday at the High School Courts.
-Purdy edges Crane 2-1 for the Championship of the Crane Wood Bat Tournament Saturday. Third Place goes to Morrisville (7-3) over Sparta, Fifth to Hurley (3-0 over Billings), and Seventh to Wheaton (6-1 over Spokane).
