Site clearing can begin for the new OTC Table Rock Campus in Hollister, now that the Ozarks Technical Community College Board of Trustees has approved the low bid for the project.  OTC Spokesman Joel Doepker says Springfield Builders will do the site work, likely starting after the first of the year…

Doepker says the work will cover all that’s needed to get the site ready for construction of the building.  The Table Rock campus of OTC is being built on 9 acres between Highways 65 and 165 in Hollister.  Until the new campus is up and running, OTC will continue operating at the Branson Meadows Shopping Center, where registration for the spring semester is underway.  The Hollister OTC campus is to open in the fall of 2013.

The OTC Table Rock Campus will open in the fall of 2013, in a four-story state of the art building.  The site covers nearly 9 acres between Highways 65 and 165.  In the meantime the Branson campus remains open, with registration for spring classes continuing at the Branson Meadows Shopping Center.

We can not put local Branson site excavating companies to work on local jobs.........I think it should be specified in the bid process.
maybe they did-maybe they didn't bid - 12/13/2011 6:08:46 AM
I agree that local Hollister dirt contractors like Chris Sidfrid, whose office is only one block away from OTC campus, should have been given a fair, equal chance to make the low bid because this entire OTC project will be paid for by Hollister School District taxpayers. We voted to raise our own taxes to build this college....for Pete's Sake! Let us keep our money here in Taney county, not send it up to Greene County-Springfield, for Pete's Sake!
They had a chance - 12/13/2011 9:59:56 AM
Why did Chris Sidfrid bid higher then the company who got the contract? You would think if they were that close to the job site they could put a bid in that was lower then the company that got the work. maybe Chris Sidfrid needs to hire someone that knows how to bid. Can't blame it on anyone besides the company that bid to high. How did they not get a fair chance to put in a low bid?
Not to worry... - 12/13/2011 10:06:11 AM
Stay tuned to who actually shows up at the site to do the work..I would be willing to bet a local contractor will actually be doing the work...silly games do get played on these things

Springfield Builders is the general contractor...Tom Boyce Excavating will be doing the site work.

No...actually we didn't have a chance to bid on the site work as Chris Sidfrid and I do the bid work for the company. My best to Tom Boyce who did get the work as he is a good friend and good contractor.
