If you play Powerball, the cost of a single ticket is about to double – then again, so is the opening jackpot.  The Multi-State Lottery Association, which oversees the Powerball game, says starting January 15th the price to play will be 2-dollars, with the winning jackpot starting at 40-million dollars, up from 20-million now.  Lottery officials say the average jackpot is predicted to be 255-million, nearly double the current 141-million dollars. The lottery association hopes the larger payouts will increase sales. Powerball is available in 42 states including Missouri, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday.

do you stop to look at the powerball? at the old $1.00 game they raise the jackpot about $15 to $20 million each time that was no winner. Now at the $2.00 game it only gos up $10 million. why is this? Are you losing people or you all fulling up your pockets? need to go back to the way it was. the old saying is " DONOT FIX IT IF IT IS NOT BROKEN " I for one have stop playing and all my friend have follow suit. you won more the old way but now the only winners are the people at the Powerball Headquarter.
