Miss America Pageant Next Week; Former Miss Branson to Compete
 Miss Missouri Sydney Friar (File Photo) By: Monte Schisler, News Director The Miss American Pageant is next week in Las Vegas, and former Miss Branson, Sydney Friar, is one of 53 women vying for the crown. Friar won the local pageant in 2010 before going on to win the state title last summer. She tells HometownDailyNews.com she’s optimistic about her chances, but it’s been a whirlwind of activity the last several weeks preparing: The 5 day pageant culminates with the crowning of Miss Americaa week from Saturday, January 14th at the Hollywood Resort and Casino.
