Official closing on the real estate deal transferring ownership of what is now the Factory Merchants Mall to the City of Branson is delayed.  The Branson Board of Aldermen recently approved the transfer of ownership from Indianapolis based Simon Property Group to the city, with Simon agreeing to pay Branson 300-thousand dollars to terminate its long term lease.  Simon is also to sign a 6 month property management agreement that spells out that the company will help current mall tenants find new locations.  Closing was supposed to happen Thursday, but Branson’s City Clerk said she is waiting on some final documents to be notarized and delivered.  The paperwork should be completed sometime today for the deal to be finished.

Maybe the papers will get lost in the mail. What a great gift it would be to start out 2012 giving FMM back to Simon!!!!
