BREAKING NEWS: More Stolen Items Recovered in Oklahoma

More stolen items have been recovered, and are on their way back to Taney County, this time from Oklahoma.  Sheriff Jimmie Russell says Oklahoma authorities assistedTaney County deputies with search warrants overnight in multiple locations in the Tahlequah area, in the continuing investigation into an alleged multi-state theft ring…

Sheriff Russell says he’s not sure how many more search warrants will be served in connection with the stolen items.  He says more suspects have been developed, and he expects them to be taken into custody soon.  According to the sheriff, the smaller items are being brought back fromOklahomabyTaneyCountydeputies, and larger items have been secured.  Russell says the rightful owners of the stolen goods will be notified as to how they can retrieve their possessions.

The investigation began following a pursuit December 27th which began in Taney County and ended in Stone County with 35-year-old Jason Sears being taken into custody.  The investigation then led to Carroll County, Arkansas, where numerous items were recovered amid an arson investigation in Eureka Springs.  Also charged is 60-year-old Richard Basnett of Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
