Veterans Boulevard Bridge to Close Next Week for Study

The Veterans Boulevard Bridge over Roark Creek near Downtown Branson will be closed for several days next week, as crews perform a detailed evaluation of the bridge’s condition.

City Hall says both lanes of the bridge will be closed from 7 a.m. til dusk from Tuesday through Friday, that’s January 17th through the 20th.  Officials say motorists should use Branson Landing Boulevard as an alternate route during that time.

The closure is the first phase of engineering work to check for any possible deterioration of the structure.  A final report is expected later this summer which will provide the city several options and cost estimates to make any needed repairs.

The bridge was built in 1931, and has been rehabilitated twice since then - once in 1959, then again in 1989.
