An 80-year-old woman from Harrison was killed Wednesday when her car was hit from behind and sent into oncoming traffic in Boone County.

According to the report from Arkansas State Police, Lois Cecil was waiting to make a left turn while northbound on Highway 7 in Bergman around 7:20 a.m. when she died as a result of the head on collision with a southbound car.  That driver, 19-year-old Calvin Summers of Lead Hill, and three passengers were treated for unknown injuries at a Harrison hospital.

The driver of the car that hit Cecil from behind was not hurt.

The 19 year old driver must not have been paying attendion. Now the womans family can deal with the loss. He should be punished.

You are obviously a moron and cant read. It is in no way shape or form the 19 year old drivers fault. He was in his lane using his right of way. He should not be punished at all. Its bad enough that the kid has to live with the pain of knowing that a woman that was pushed into his vehicle died from the result of it. Flipping morons eager to point fingers without knowing the facts.

He will be punished for the rest of his life. That memory will always be there in the back of his mind.

So if I read the article right Mrs Cecil was hit from behind pushed into the intersection and you want to punish the 19 yr old. Shame on you for blaming the young person. Unless you were there you can't pass judgement. Besides Jesus is the only one to pass judgement. That young man will pay in his own life for the rest of his life. The thought of someone dying and him being involved will make a lasting impression I am sure. Prayers to the family of the life lost. Accidents happen that is why they are called accidents.

This is for whoever wrote the first comment: You clearly did not understand the story about the accident. The 19 year old and his passengers were not at fault. It was the car that rear- ended Ms Cecil's car, and pushed it into the on coming 19yr olds path. I feel for all concerened. Prayers to you all.

re-read the story, the victim. was shoved or pushed into the other lane in front of the 19 year old driver. The party that hit the re-end of the car again was not injured. Regardless of what transpired and we may not have all the facts, is not going to help the victim. (Prayers for the family)
