The Roy W. Slusher Foundation is donating 100-thousand dollars in grant money to nine Stone and Taney County non-profit agencies through the Ozarks Food Harvest.  The announcement was made Thursday at a news conference at College of the Ozarks.

The recipients can use their sizeable donation to purchase food from the Ozarks Food Harvest warehouse in Springfield.

The Lives Under Construction Boys Ranch in Lampe is one of the organizations being helped.  Founder Ken Ortman tells HometownDailyNews.com the donation will keep food on the table for the 16 boys living at the facility:

Mrs. Slusher passed away a short time ago, there was very little mention made of her passing. Her remains were buried in Iowa, as I recall she was only survived by a sister-in-law and a niece. She and her Husband made a huge difference in the lives of lots of area people. We are a better place thanks to Mrs. Slusher. David Rust

I hadn't heard of her passing. I agree whole-heartedly. She and her husband were incredibly generous to this area! Bradleyville students were blessed by their kindness and unselfishness many times over! We'll always be grateful and aspire to be as thoughtful!
