All of the elements are coming together as the Branson Centennial committee works its way toward celebration of the city’s 100th birthday. Committee chair Ann McDowell confirms that the Centennial Celebration show will be held at the RFD-TV Theatre. The show on Sunday, April 15 will be in the afternoon, to allow as many local entertainers as possible to participate. McDowell says committee members are also focusing on gathering prizes for the 100Reunion Giveaway…

McDowell says the response has been very positive, but in order to cover 2-thousand people, more prize donations would be welcome. To donate meals, accommodations or tickets, contact the Centennial Project Manager at the Branson-Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Branson Centennial Museum is taking shape at the corner of Main Street and Veterans Boulevard. Centennial Committee chair Ann McDowell says the donated building is getting a makeover, thanks to a group of scouts and some dedicated residents…

Once the work is done, the Museum Committee will focus on daily operations, as well as the displays inside. McDowell says one of the items being sought for the museum is a photo of Mang Field before 1912. Branson Centennial logo merchandise now has an authorized official vendor, and centennial celebration products will be available for viewing this week. A merchandise showcase will be held Tuesday, January 31 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the offices of the Branson-Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce on Highway 248.
