Scharberg says there are 62 sheltered homeless in Stone County, including 33 children.  And, there are 32 adults and 13 children counted among the unsheltered homeless.  Those individuals are living in campers, cardboard boxes, or sleeping in their cars.  Scharberg says the number of unsheltered homeless has grown not only because of the poor economy and the mild weather, but also because of improvements in the way the count is conducted.  For more information, call Christian Associates at 417-739-3200.
