Branson’s Titanic Museum Attraction is hosting the United States Ice Carving Association’s National Championship this weekend.
30 participants are competing in the two day event Saturday and Sunday at the Titanic parking lot at Highway 76 and Gretna Road, vying for more than 25-thousand dollars in prize money and a chance to represent the United States at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Russia.

Vandenberg said the weekend competition will be held underneath large tents that will take up the entire Titanic parking lot. The event is free and open to the public, with guests asked to park at White Water and use a free shuttle to the ice carving championship.
The Titanic Museum will be open this weekend, with tickets available at the box office.

Take chunks of ice weighing upwards of 300 pounds – use tools and blow torches to carve out unique statues and designs – and you have the United States Ice Carving Association’s National Championship.

The ice carving championship is free and open to the public, with onlookers asked to park at White Water and take a free shuttle over to The Titanic. The competition will be held in the museum’s parking lot.
