Don Wessel, a longtime Springfield car dealer, and founding member of the Ozarks Technical Community College Board of Trustees, has died.

The 86 year old businessman was well known across the Ozarks for his support of the arts, education and civic organizations.

Wessel served on the OTC Board from 1990 until his retirement in 2008.  He was president of the board from 1992 to 1994.  A spokesman for the college said Wessel played an important roll in the creation of OTC, and the college is thankful for the support he provided.

Ozarks Technical Community College has a campus at Branson Meadows and is building a new multi-million dollar facility in Hollister near Highways 65 and 165.
