Barbara Jacquelyn (Weber) Roeger

Barbara Jacquelyn (Weber) Roeger passed away in her home on Friday, June 4, 2021. She lived an amazing 93 years and was loved by everyone who met her.


Barbara was born in Los Angeles, CA on April 18, 1928 to Lorraine and John Weber Jr. When Barbara was two, the family moved to Ames, Iowa, where she spent her growing-up years making many lifelong friends.

In 1950 she graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She was a member of the Chi Omega fraternity (sorority). In 1951 she married her Aggie boyfriend Jack Lewis Roeger. They moved to Shreveport, Louisiana, where they raised a son and two daughters. Barbara worked in a medical clinic for twenty years as an office manager.


In 1991 Barbara and Jack retired to Branson, Missouri. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Branson. Barbara volunteered for several years at Skaggs Hospital and also at Taney Hills Community Library in their Thrift Store.



In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed sewing, doing cross stitch embroidery, gardening, traveling with Jack, and collecting antique dishes.


Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Lorraine and John Weber Jr, and a brother, John Weber III. She is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Jack Roeger, a sister-in-law June Brown of Arizona, a son David Roeger from Florida, a daughter Susan Lewis and husband Dave from Missouri, and a daughter Ellen Prince and husband Mark of North Carolina. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Christopher Roeger, Megan Prince Roddy and husband Ian, David Lewis and wife Katie, Michael Prince and wife Kelsie, and Aimee Lewis Wright and husband Alex. Barbara had one great-granddaughter Makenzie.


A private family gathering will be held in memory of Barbara at a later date.


Arrangements were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
