Belva L. Pennington

Mrs. Belva L. Pennington, 83 of Taneyville, MO died Saturday, March 14, 2020 in Forsyth, MO. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 19, 2020 in the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 20 in the funeral home with Pastor Bobby Fausett officiating. Burial will follow in the Dickens Cemetery, Taneyville.

Belva Pennington

Belva Lorene Pennington was born Thursday, December 10, 1936 in Beaver County, Oklahoma to Glenn and Eva (Taylor) Howard. She attended her schooling in Oklahoma and graduated from the Lavern High School in 1955. During that same year she married William “Bill” Pennington on August 2, 1955 in Logan, OK. Belva attended Southern Colorado State University and the University of Colorado and graduated with her Bachelors of Arts in 1972. She became a public-school teacher and taught at the Ava Elementary School in Ava, MO. After her retirement in 1998 she continued to teach as a substitute in Taneyville. Belva also earned a Masters in Theology from the Midwest College of Theology.

She enjoyed writing, playing the organ and piano, and watching the local wildlife. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. Belva was very patient, understanding and non-judgmental. She was a strong woman of faith and practiced her faith by being very caring and generous.

She is survived by one son, Wesley Pennington of Taneyville; one daughter, LaDonna Stuart and husband, Gary of Taneyville; one brother, Jerry Howard and wife, Pat of Logan, OK; six grandchildren, Marlena Bach, Jennifer Buchanan, Rebecca Heerman, Chyanne and Nocona Pennington and Rafn Korsmo; three great-grandchildren, Hannah Bach, Emma Buchanan and Easton Heerman.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Byron Pennington; daughter, Sherri Pennington-Korsmo; one brother, Merlin Howard; one grandson, Dakota Pennington.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
