Bernard “Tom” O’Neill Jr.

Bernard “Tom” O’Neill Jr., age 74, of Exeter, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

He was born September 17, 1944 in Lynwood, California, the son of Bernard T. O’Neill Sr. and Lilly (Davis) O’Neill. On August 19, 1966 in Cassville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Anna Hopkins, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Eric O’Neill and his wife Donna of Exeter, Missouri, Travis O’Neill and his wife Janet of Garfield, Arkansas and Jason “Jake” O’Neill and his wife Jennifer of Cassville, Missouri; one daughter, Stacy Blisard and her husband Matt of Jenkins, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Nicholle, Baillie, Kaitlyn, Evan, Dalton, Cole, Raeghan and Kreyton and two great grandchildren, Carter and Cash.

Preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Jim O’Neill and one sister, Patsy O’Neill-Higgs.

Tom grew up and received his education in Exeter, where he graduated from Exeter High School in 1962. After high school he joined the United States Navy, serving until 1966. For thirty-eight years he worked at Wendt-Sonis in Rogers, Arkansas as a Manufacturing Supervisor. Some of his favorite pastimes were golfing, fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Cassville Golf Course.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Tony Ball and Pastor Danny Heupel will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Tom.
