Bert Houle, age 71, of Kissee Mills, MO, passed away at his home after a courageous battle with cancer on September 8, 2020 with his family and close friends by his side.
Bert served in Vietnam for two tours where he obtained the rank of Specialist 4th Class in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
He was a devout Catholic and a dedicated church member of Our Lady of the Ozarks Catholic Church, Forsyth, Missouri. He often volunteered his services in support of the church and congregation.
Bert is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jay & Lynette Houle; grandson, Jake; granddaughters: Charlotte and Juliet of Forked River, New Jersey; his partner, Vicki Ploshay; and his dog PeeWee. Also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Lorraine & Norman Roy of Auburn, Maine; and nephew and wife, Stephen and Theresa Roy of Oxford, Connecticut. Bert was especially sad to leave behind his close friends in his Church Rummage Sale Posse.
Visitation is at Our Lady of the Ozarks Catholic Church beginning at 9am followed by the Rosary Prayer at 9:30am with Mass at 10:00am on Saturday, September 12th.
Internment in the Kissee Mills Cemetery will be immediately following Mass and will be officiated by Father Dave Hulshof. The family requests in lieu of flowers, that donations in memory of Bert be made to Our Lady of the Ozarks Catholic Church, Maintenance Repair Fund, 951 Swan Valley Drive, Forsyth, MO 65653.
Cremation is under the direction of the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home, Forsyth, MO.
