Carol Jean Cole

Carol Jean Cole, age 78, of Shell Knob, Missouri passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her home.

She was born June 4, 1942 in St. Paul, Minnesota, the daughter of Donovan and Ruth Florence (Thorson) Addis. On September 3, 1977 she was united in marriage to Thomas Cole, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Cameron S. Miller and his wife Paula of Mt. Washington, Kentucky and Christian L. Miller of Eureka Springs, Arkansas; three daughters, Kelley M. Norman of Lawrence, Kansas, Angela Mather and her husband Robb of Prattville, Alabama and Amy Scheibler and her husband Ty of Lawrence, Kansas; two brothers, Brian Addis and his wife Mitzi of St. Paul, Minnesota and Roger Addis of Edwards, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Michael, Megan, Hannah, Daniel, Ashley, Shelby, Grace and Alexis and five great grandchildren, Liam, Tyson, Hudson, Jack and Piper.

Preceding her in death were her parents, one grandson, Preston Scheibler and one great grandson, Noah Thomas.

Carol grew up and received her education in St. Paul, Minnesota graduating from Murray High School. She was an administrative assistant for the CFO at Stormont-Vail Health Care in Topeka, Kansas. As part of her duties, she planned fundraising events for the Stormont-Vail Foundation. She retired to Shell Knob, Missouri with her husband, Thomas, in June 2004. Carol enjoyed performing with Senior Moments Improv Group for Topeka Civic Theater. Being a member of a book club, she loved to read and some of her favorite pastimes were playing Bunco and Mahjong. She enjoyed genealogy, gardening, boating, attending plays and spending time with family and friends. She was a current member of Holiday Island Community Christian Church. Her memberships included Stephen Ministry Prince of Peace and First United Methodist Care Line. She taught Sunday School and Confirmation classes at Faith Lutheran Church.
