Charlene Joyce Wofford
Charlene Joyce Wofford, age 88, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Cassville Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born July 6, 1932 in Guthrie, Oklahoma the daughter of Floyd and Ola Mae (Johnson) Maxwell. On December 2, 1951 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma she was united in marriage to Ralph LeGale Wofford, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Ralph Michael Wofford and his wife Renee of Stockton, California; two daughters, Lana Beck and her husband Kent of Cassville, Missouri and Rhonda Lynne Dutra also of Cassville; seven grandchildren, Michelle Wofford of Stockton, California, Stacey Wedin and her husband Tyson of Rocklin, California, Christopher Wofford and his wife Megan of Stockton, California, Jennifer Cathcart and her husband Jason of Spokane, Washington, Joshua Beck and his wife Molly of Springfield, Missouri, Colt Beck of Cassville, Missouri and Naomi Beck of Oak Harbor, Washington and eight great grandchildren, Gidian, Khloe, Asher, Lucas, Domenic, Caylee, Abby and Elijah.
Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters, Darla Jean Helms and Geneva Nelson and a son-in-law, James Dutra.
Charlene received her education in Oklahoma. While attending Capital Hill High School in Oklahoma City she worked at a soda fountain. After high school she worked at the Oklahoma City Airport and later as a civil servant typist before moving to California in 1958. She raised three children and worked as a teacher’s aide and civil servant in California. After retiring she moved to Missouri to make her home. She loved to read, sew, listen to country music, dance when she got the chance and was fascinated by the stars and planets. She also enjoyed drawing and cake decorating. She was an avid animal lover.
Her most significant accomplishment was the nurturing, dedication and love she had for her three children. She was there 100% of the time for them.
Services will be held at 9:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Kevin Hilton will conduct the services. Burial will be at 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
