Charles “Chaz” Fredrick Williams Jr.
Charles “Chaz” Fredrick Williams Jr., age 87, of Galena, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home April 22, 2020. He entered this life March 14, 1933, in Springfield, Missouri, the son of Helen (Benson) Williams and Charles Williams Sr. His parents and a sister, Dorothy Dando, have preceded him in death. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
Always a happy, kind, considerate, and patient man, Chaz was a positive influence on everyone he met. Taking great joy in life, he was always a “child of light,” bringing joy and happiness to all. Chaz earned a degree in architecture and was extremely talented in the visual arts. He started with stained glass in Florida and moved on to jewelry making, painting, metal working, and designing kitchens. His artistic eye moved from the buildings to the garden and yard at his home. Chaz used his talents of love and design to share a bit of himself with many loved ones. He is still bringing smiles to others with the visual creations he has left behind. He will be greatly missed.
Chaz is survived by his partner of 39 years, Damon Aaron of the home; daughter, Julia Williams South, of Winter Park, Florida; son, Benson Williams of St. Augustine, Florida; grandchildren: Kai, Kali, Tanner, and Trevor; nephew, Chuck Dando of Springfield, Missouri; cousin, Jackie Benson of Springfield, Missouri; ex-wife, Sue Parker Williams of St. Augustine, Florida; two dogs: Happie and Abby; cat, Ms. Kitty; and a host of good friends in both Missouri and Florida.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date as his cremains will be laid to rest in Hazelwood Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Handing Up Blessings @handingupblessings. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
