Charles L. Stewart
Charles L. Stewart, age 79, went home to glory on Saturday, August 15, 2020. He was a resident at Shephard of the Hills Living Center in Branson, Missouri. Charles was born on August 11, 1941, in Sarcoxie, Missouri. He graduated from Carthage Senior High School, Carthage, Missouri, in 1959.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Carl and Waneta M. Stewart; his younger brothers: Wilbur E. and Jackie D. Stewart; and his niece, Janeta Bullock.
Charles is survived by his wife of nearly fifty-nine years, Judy K. Stewart; his two sons: Guy B. Stewart and Gregory B. (Laura) Stewart; and his sister, Carla (Steven) Green.
In his lifetime, Charles resided in Carthage, Missouri; Dallas, Texas; Webb City, Missouri; Springfield, Missouri; and Branson, Missouri. He embarked on a career in Civil Engineering with the City of Carthage, Missouri. His experience enabled him to accept a position with Allgeier Martin Engineering in Joplin, Missouri, where he advanced to Dallas, Texas when a new branch office opened. He then worked with Harper and Kemp, Dallas, Texas on the structural engineering for the new Dallas City Hall building designed by I.M. Pei. In 1971, he relocated back to Webb City, Missouri and returned to Allgeier Martin. Additionally, he enjoyed a long career in new home construction, land surveying, and architectural drafting and design, as well as engineering.
Charles’ interests and passions were wide and varied, including sports, hiking, hunting, art, and architectural design. He loved being in the great outdoors enjoying nature. His many interests were indicative of his creative spirit. He tirelessly served in church work his entire adult life. He especially enjoyed working with the youth. Charles faithfully served on several service teams.
