Charles Nicks, 80 of Powersite, entered into rest on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at his home. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Directors, Branson.
Charles Orvin Nicks was born to George & Adeline (Anderson) Nicks on June 26, 1940 in Nebraska. After high school he began work for a company and was trained as a machinist. Charles started his own machinist shop, enjoying the business and meeting the people. His love for horses and the fact he owned some acreage lead to starting an equestrian business of which he took great pleasure in.
He spent much of his life in Colorado and later Bessemer, Michigan before moving to Powersite. Along with his love of horses, Charles enjoyed fishing and the strategy and thrill of gambling especially Blackjack.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lila J. Nicks in 2015; brothers, Georgie, Paul and Don and one grandson Damien.
Charles is survived by his daughters, Renee Howard of Bailey, CO, Yvonne Osborn of Powersite, Robin Simmons of Wheat Ridge, CO and Tonnie Jenkins of Watertown, TN; son, Marty Osborn; along with nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
