Christopher Thomas Huff

Christopher Thomas Huff, Cape Fair, MO, son of Thomas and Janet (Vanderploeg) Huff, was born August 7, 1987 in Springfield, MO and departed this life on March 31, 2020 at the age of 32.

Christopher loved life. Everything he did with precision and gusto. He was all in. His passion for cooking gave way to a brilliant career in food service. He honed his chef skills during his ten years he worked in Arizona and British Virgin Islands. His dedication was not only cooking but was able to bring down overhead and raise profits in all the restaurants he worked with. He started at Flat Creek Restaurant as a line cook quickly rising to the General Manager.

Christopher has numerous friends around the world who will dearly miss him. He worked hard and played hard. He had many adventures with his buddies, camping, fishing and floating were his ultimate favorites. He had a wicked sense of dry humor and loved playing tricks and jokes on people and even his dog. He loved to help his friends and family out. Always making sure they were doing ok. His sense of adventure and no fear of the unknown allowed him to experience wonders we only dream of. Have suitcase will travel at the drop of a hat. He traveled to over 30 countries. Worked in many of them. He stated he wanted to die with a full passport which he did. Although we feel he was taken from us too soon, he lived an exceptionally full life.

Chris was preceded in death by his sister, Megan Huff; two great grandmothers, Betty Vanderploeg and Mildred Newell; grandmother, Judy Vanderploeg; grandfather, Ronald Huff; and two uncles, Richard Vanderploeg and Karl Vanderploeg.

Survivors include: his father, Thomas Huff of Kimberling City, MO; mother, Janet Huff of Kimberling City, MO; grandmother LaVonne Huff of Kimberling City, MO; aunts and uncles, Kevin and Barbara Hembree of Reeds Spring, MO and Kevin and Cheryl Huff of Branson, MO; great aunt and uncle, Ron and Judy Ruppel of Arnold, MO and a host of other family and friends.
