Clell L. “Pete” Hendrix

Clell L. “Pete” Hendrix, age 87, of Wheaton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at Cox-Monett Hospital in Monett, Missouri.

He was born April 19, 1933 in Gate, Oklahoma the son of Oden and Beulah (McLeod) Hendrix. On April 19, 1963 in Miami, Oklahoma he was united in marriage to Judith Ann Brumberg who preceded him in death on January 25, 1999. Also preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Marvin.

Surviving are two sons, Joe Hendrix and Jerry “Tig” Hendrix and his wife Mari all of Wheaton; one daughter, Jill Pyle and her husband Chad of Wheaton; one brother, Ed Hendrix of Wheaton; three sisters, Zona England of Wheaton, Betty Frank of Springfield, Missouri and Nova Schwandt of Monett, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Virginia Glinsmann of Loup City, Nebraska; three grandchildren, Steven Hendrix and his wife Raschelle, Payton Pyle and Evan Pyle and two great grandchildren, Will and Cain.

Pete received his education in Wheaton, Missouri where he graduated from high school. During the Korean War he served in the United States Army. In 1958 he moved from his home place on Highway 86 to Wheaton to make his home. He was a member of Wheaton Southern Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge and Wheaton Community Club. For several years he served on the Barry Electric Board and was a school board member.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 21, 2020 at Wheaton Southern Baptist Church under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert will conduct the services. Burial will be at Rocky Comfort Cemetery in Rocky Comfort, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Wheaton Southern Baptist Church.

Contributions may be made to Wheaton Southern Baptist Church in memory of Pete.
