Cornelius David Vanderweel Jr.

Cornelius David Vanderweel Jr., age 82, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away January 1, 2020 peacefully at his home with his loving wife by his side. He entered this life August 6, 1937, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Cornelius D. Vanderweel Sr. and Julia (Farkas) Vanderweel. His parents and a sister, Carolyn Conwell, have preceded him in death. He was joined in marriage to Mary Thompson. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

Cornelius proudly served our country in the United States Air Force as a weather observer. In civilian life he was a lithographer in the printing trade in the Chicago area. In 2003, he retired to the Branson area, where he was able to dedicate more time to his interests reading, photography, woodworking, model building, and working with computers. His joy in life was his family. His life was lived for others and his legacy will live throughout the generations. He will be greatly missed.


Cornelius is survived by his wife, Mary Vanderweel; daughter, Michele (Eric) Rohde; daughter, Julie (Dan) Boatright; son, Michael Beaumont; son, Ken (Char) Vanderweel; son, James Beaumont; son, Ron Vanderweel; daughter, Karen (Glenn) Higgin; son, Christopher (Lindsay) Vanderweel; grandchildren: Matthew Rohde, Julie Rohde, Kyle (Lisa) Boatright, Nicole Boatright, Shelby, Jake, Bobby Higgin, John Higgin, Amanda (Jon) Sammons, Ashley (Sean) Molony, and CJ Vanderweel; greatgrandchildren: Haddie, Kaidan, Liam, and Blakely; brother, Lenonard (Nanci) Vanderweel; brother, Donald (Karen Pieper) Vanderweel; and nieces and nephews: Kitty, Matthew, and Katie.


A memorial mass will be held with full military honors, 11:00 AM, January 14, 2020, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Branson, Missouri, with Father Joseph Kelly officiating. To leave an online condolence, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
