Danny Gale Day
Danny Gale Day, age 73, of Purdy, Missouri, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Cassville Health and Rehabilitation in Cassville, Missouri.
He was born April 18, 1946 in Washburn, Missouri, the son of John and Effie Mae (Snook) Day. On August 8, 2000 in Miami, Oklahoma, he was united in marriage to Wanda Crow, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, J.R. Day and his wife Staci of Washburn, Missouri and Michael Day of Kansas City, Missouri; two daughters, Michelle Toppass and her husband Mark of Rich Hill, Missouri and Melissa Day of Kansas City, Missouri and three grandchildren, Andy, Evan, and Maggie.
Preceding him in death were his parents and ten brothers and sisters, Ruby Lorene Fletcher, Helen Marie Day, William Hardy Day, Alma Louise Smith, Mary Kay Murphy, Harold J. Day, Wallace Walter Day, Virgil “AB” Day, Kenneth Albert Day and John H. Day.
Gale grew up and received his education in Star Hollow. For many years he worked at the grape vineyard for Gene Cowherd. Most of his life was spent in Barry County. In his younger years, he lived in the Kansas City area and hauled sheetrock for L.D. Brown and Rew Materials. He was passionate about growing tomatoes and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. His enthusiasm will be missed.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2019 at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, Missouri, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Rick Cooper will conduct the services.
