Darlene M. Luppen

Darlene M. Luppen, 85, of Cassville, Missouri passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24th, 2020 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Darlene was born in Belmond, IA on December 13th, 1934 to Robert and Mildred (Lindsay) Reeder. Darlene was a proud member of the Iowa Falls class of 1952. Darlene worked many years as a Scale Operator and Fleet Manager for Weaver Construction in Alden, IA. Darlene later went on to own and operate Super 9 Inn in Okmulgee, OK and Cassville Bowl in Cassville, MO. After selling Cassville Bowl, she worked daily at Fabritec in Butterfield, MO, retiring when she turned 70. She then volunteered weekly at The Second Act in Cassville, Missouri.

Darlene was united in marriage to Gary Luppen in June 1990 in Las Vegas.

Darlene enjoyed people and always had time to visit a garage sale. She was loved by many and shared a laugh and a smile with anyone she met. She drove a hard bargain and always had a quick witted comeback. Darlene enjoyed gardening, and took great pride in her plants and vegetables. In retirement she enjoyed canning, pickling, hummingbirds, and most importantly taking yearly trips to visit her beloved classmates.

Darlene is survived by her husband Gary Luppen, her children whom she loved dearly, Marcia Accordino of Roanoke, VA, Brenda Delsing (Scott), of Iowa Falls, IA, Jake Thomas of Iowa Falls, IA, Tricia Thomas of Cassville, MO, her stepchildren who meant the world to her, Dan Thomas of Dows, IA, Deb Thomas (Kenny) of Terrell, TX, Doug Thomas (Judy) of Dows, IA, Virgil Thomas Jr. of Dows, IA, Gary Luppen Jr. (Martina) of Nevada, IA, and Debbie Luppen, of Nevada, IA. Along with special blessings of several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her best friend and cousin Edna Toettcher (Richard) of Santee, California.

She was preceded in death by her father Robert Reeder, her stepfather Robert Walker, her mother Mildred Walker, and daughter Rhonda Hagelman.

Services will be announced at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
