David Vanzant, age 61, of Ozark, Missouri, formerly of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Ozark Riverview Manor in Ozark, Missouri.
He was born April 24, 1959 on the Fort Carson Military Base near Colorado Springs, Colorado the son of Warren and Patricia (Bogart) Vanzant, who preceded him in death.
Surviving are three brothers, Roy Vanzant of Virginia, Nick Vanzant and his wife Lisa of Golden, Missouri and Barry Vanzant of Eagle Rock, Missouri; three sisters, Debbie Alter of Savannah, Georgia, Linda Eoas of Oregon and Ivy Powell and her husband Gregory of Danoco, Colorado and several nieces and nephews.
David grew up and received his education in Colorado graduating from high school in Canyon City. During high school he was a member of ROTC. He then spent some time in Galveston, Texas and later in Fayetteville, Arkansas before moving to Eureka Springs, Arkansas. While living in Eureka Springs he was a cook. For several years he worked at Tysons in the clean-up department. Several years ago he was a resident of Red Rose Nursing Home in Cassville before entering Ozark Riverview Manor in Ozark.
Some of his favorite pastimes were floating The Buffalo River, watching the Denver Broncos and driving his 4-wheel drive Toyota. His best friend was his dog, Buddy.
Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
