Deborah J. “Debbie” Carlson, age 69, of Heber Springs, Arkansas formerly of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, July 23, 2020 at home.
She was born January 24, 1952 in Wichita, Kansas the daughter of Verlin and Emeline “Emmy” (Blackwell) Cook. On November 20, 1970 in Abilene, Kansas she was united in marriage to Jim Carlson, who preceded her in death on April 13, 2014. Also preceding her in death were her parents and two sisters, Linda Sue Cook and Barbara in infancy.
Surviving are one son, Jimmy Carlson and his wife Jamie of Cassville, Missouri; one daughter, Candi Richie and her husband John of Heber Springs, Arkansas; one sister, Shirley Munoz and her husband Richard of Florida; six grandchildren, Austin, Taylor and her husband Nick, Lexi, Summer and her husband Jonathan, Laken and her husband Jess and Lacey and her husband Steven; two great grandchildren, Kason and Akaiah; two great grandchildren on the way and her beloved dog, Chewy.
Debbie grew up and received her education in Kansas and graduated from Salina Central High School. She received her associate degree in Cosmetology from Salina Beauty College. In the early 1970’s she moved to Missouri and worked at Fasco and also Abel 2. Some of her favorite pastimes were crafting, cooking, sewing, especially Barbie Clothes, boating and fishing. Most of all Debbie loved being a mom and she loved her grandkids and all her family.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Monday, July 27, 2020 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
