Dennis R. Swofford

Dennis R. Swofford, age 65, of Jenkins, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

Dennis was born November 27, 1953 in Aurora, Missouri, the son of Randle and Mary Ellen (Fare) Swofford. He met the love of his life and was united in marriage on October 5, 1984 to Wilma (Lee), who survives. Also surviving are his two daughters, Tiffany Bohmke and her husband Eric of Cassville, Missouri and Amy Swofford of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Ilene Washam of Aurora, Missouri and Linda Wright of Columbia, Missouri. The pride of his life were his four grandsons, Ethan, Tyson, Dylan and Jaxon Bohmke.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Dale.

Dennis grew up on the family farm, loved playing sports, excelling at basketball and baseball and received his early education at Jenkins School. He graduated from high school as an Aurora Houn Dawg. He then earned his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from the University of Missouri in Columbia. MIZ! He was a proud brother of the Alpha Gamma Sigma Fraternity, where he made lifelong friendships and memories. All of his life was spent farming, raising cattle, hogs, and dairy cattle as well as crops. For over thirty years he was Road Commissioner for the Jenkins Special Road District. Dennis also served on the Cassville FSA Board. He was an avid golfer and a long-standing member of the Cassville Golf Club. He was instrumental in the construction and design of the current clubhouse.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.

Donations be made to Dennis’ memorial fund in support of his beloved family and grandsons.
