Doyle Earl Nickle
Doyle Earl Nickle, age 98, of Cassville, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 20, 2019 at Mercy Hospital in Cassville.
He was born October 16, 1921 in East Purdy, Missouri the son of Earl and Genevieve (Widener) Nickle. On December 24, 1948 in Austria he was united in marriage to Edeltraud “Trudy” Verderber, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Bruce Nickle and his wife Debra of Cassville, Missouri; six grandchildren, David Seal, Christopher Nickle, Stacy Watson, Jared Ellis, Jordan Ellis and Jameson Ellis and thirteen great grandchildren, Jack, Emily, Ashley, Helen, John, Jericho, Jace, Jaylen, Jeremiah, Ryder, Remy and Lakyn and Jack Seal.
Preceding him in death were his parents; a daughter, Christine Nickle; one brother, Jim Nickle and a sister, Pauline Coatney.
Doyle graduated from Cassville High School in 1940 and was a Charter Member of FFA. After school he entered the United States Army. During his Army career he served in Europe during World War II, Korea, Japan and last in Vietnam from which he retired. In 1966 he moved back to this area to make his home. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a volunteer in the Hospital Auxiliary. Some of his favorite pastimes were fishing at Roaring River, traveling in his motor home and camping. He loved his model railroad.
Masonic services will be held at 2:00 P.M. followed by funeral services Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Danny Heupel will conduct the services. Burial with military honors will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cassville.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 12:00 noon Thursday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
