Eldon "Gene" Eugene Bandy

Eldon "Gene" Eugene Bandy passed away September 11, 2020, which was 91 years to the day he entered this life September 11, 1929, in Edinburg, Illinois, the son of William and Nettie (Wolf) Bandy. He was joined in marriage to Jan Sue (Barrick) on November 27, 1980. Gene was from Blue Mound, Illinois, and passed away in Branson, Missouri. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.

Gene proudly served our country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as a contractor and had a passion for collecting. A wide variety of assorted items became his hobby: old gas engines, antique tractors, coins, R.S. Prussia dishes and plates, guns, watches, and clocks. Gene also made stained glass lamps with his wife Jan. He was one of twelve children and learned how to get along with others at a young age.

Many memories have been made and will be precious to those who knew him.

Gene is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Marcella Moomey and Patricia Hagen; and five brothers: George, Bill, Harold, Morse, and Russell Bandy.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Jan Bandy; two daughters: Janet (Roger) Sullenberger of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Cynthia Price of Phoenix, Arizona; two stepsons: Brian (Jennifer) Cory of Decatur, Illinois, and Scott (Denise) Cory of Mapleton, Illinois; ten grandchildren: Roger Jr., B.J., Selby, Shirra, Austin, Logan, Taron, Katie, Cody, and Gillian; and ten great-grandchildren.
