Ethelyn Rose Laughary

Ethelyn Rose Laughary, age 82, of Forsyth, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2020. She entered this life June 3, 1937, in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Wilburn and Viola (Hurley) Nichols. Arrangements and services are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
While Ethelyn was an excellent quilter indoors, she also had her outside activities she enjoyed: traveling, camping, and riding her own motorcycle. She was a member of the Motor Maids and the Christian Motorcycle Association. Most of all, she loved her family and doted on her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Ethelyn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jerry Laughary; daughter, Valerie Perry; and brother, William Nichols.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Steve) Bugner of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Janet Slates of Wichita, Kansas; daughter, Debra (Eric) Watson of Forsyth, Missouri; grandchildren: Brandi (Mike) Huffman, Brett (Sarah) Matzek, Josh (Taylor) Matzek, Kayla (Dustin) Kittle, Lexi Stiffler, Christine (Jimmy) Christy, Jessica (Mike) Avila, Sarah (Eric) DeLuna, Breanna (Matthew) Lindstrom, Brandon (Adele) Harvey, and Amy (Chad) McCoskey; brother, Herbert Nichols of Kansas; sister, Alice (Dan) Penovich of Springfield, Missouri; sister, Janice (Gene) Reed of Colorado; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 9, 2020, at Tri-Lakes Christian Church, 116 Pathway, Branson, Missouri, with Pastor Dave Patrick officiating.
